Receive Free Medical Care

St. Luke’s is a private charity that provides free medical care to those without insurance or access to care.

St. Luke’s was created to help our community access quality medical care. We do this by providing direct primary health care to both Member Patients and non-member patients. Member Patients pay an annual fee to access their personal physician at any time. Those fees are then used to provide free medical care to those in need. That means you can see a family doctor even if you don’t have insurance — for free.

Here are a few things non-members should know.

We do not accept non-member patients who have HMO or PPO plans, or who have Medicare or Medi-Cal. If you have insurance and want to receive direct primary care, become a member today.

We do not receive funding from the government or the Catholic Church.
We do not accept or bill insurance.
Our doctors’ services are provided free of charge. Donations are gratefully accepted.
The clinic does not provide free X-rays, labs, medications, or consultations with specialists, but we can help arrange these services through our community partners at reduced rates.

I do not have insurance. I need to see a doctor.

Step 1: Gather your paperwork

If you have been denied insurance (Medi-Cal or Covered California) please bring in a copy of your denial letter to the office.
If you have recently changed jobs and lost your insurance coverage, please bring in a copy of your termination of coverage letter.
If you do not have either one, we may still be able to help you. Please come to the office and talk with our staff.

Step 2: Bring all documents to our office

If you are eligible to receive free care, you will be asked to complete a registration form.
Your appointment for a future date will be made during this time.
- Please keep in mind that we are not a same-day clinic. If you require same-day service, please visit your nearest emergency room or urgent care.

Step 3: Come to your scheduled appointment

Bring any records you may have.
Bring in all your medication and vitamin bottles with you.

Our services:

We cover doctor visits and any in-office treatment or testing at no charge. This includes general office exams, female gynecologic exams with pap smear, pediatric exams, and well child checks.
Patients are responsible for the full cost of their medications, but our providers are experts at knowing the least expensive ways to get you the medications you need.
We perform basic office lab studies: urinalysis, blood sugar, urine pregnancy tests, hemoglobin, INR tests for patient on blood thinners, electrocardiograms (EKG), basic breathing tests, and hearing screenings. We also perform Strep, COVID and Influenza Rapid Antigen Testing. We do not draw blood tests in our office.
We perform basic skin procedures (suturing and skin biopsies) and apply splints and casts for sprains and simple broken bones here in the office. We can always refer you to a surgeon, if necessary, but you are responsible for the entire cost. We do not cover any operations at surgical centers or hospitals.
